Obituary for Gary M. Richardson Gary M. Richardson, 70, of Anderson, passed away on July 26, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic in Clevland, Ohio. He was born on May 15, 1948 in New Castle, and resided most of his life in Anderson. Gary graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1966, and New Castle Electrical School in 1967.
He worked as a Journeyman Tool and Die maker for Delco Remy/Delphi, and retired in 2005 after 40 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He liked to coach his children and grandchildren’s baseball or softball teams, like to watch NASCAR, the NY Yankees, and the Chicago Cubs.
Gary also liked to go antiquing, and play cards, but he especially loved to spend time with his friends and granchildren who all called him Poppy. Gary is survived by his loving wife whom he married on July 21, 1967, Carla (Borton) Richardson; children, Michael E. Richardson, Kelly Richardson Armstrong, and Ryan E. (Dalilah Avila) Richardson; grandchildren, Clifton Almquist, Ellyna Almquist, Ryan “CJ” Richardson, Sage Baker, Bradley Avila Richardson, Benjamin Avila Richardson, and Kairo Avila Parks; and great-granddaughter, Aunalee Marie Segner. Also surviving are his siblings, Deborah (Rick) Davis, Cathy (Derrick) Hayworth, and John (Lisa) Richardson; aunt, Arnell Goodwin; in-laws, Dale (Dena) Borton and Phyllis Borton; best friends, Dale and Sandy Hinkle and Jean Schaefer; cousins, Rosey and Jeff Fetz and Teresa Fisher, and Dowe Carmack and several nieces, nephews, and other cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl D. and Betty Maxine (Dishman) Richardson; grandparents, Daniel and Willie Dishman, and Dora and Walter Richardson; brother, Dale Richardson; in-laws, Gene and Mildred Borton, Oliver Borton, and Charles Borton, and best friend, Timothy Schaefer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 2, 2018, at 3:30 pm at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Rev.
