Obituary for Gene Morton Hellman Gene Morton Hellman, 93, of Nashville, KS, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Parkwood Village, Pratt, KS. He was born on February 1, 1925 in rural Isabel, KS, the son of Carl H. Hellman and Elizabeth A. (Flentje) Hellman. On June 15, 1947, he married Eunice M. (Hudson) Hellman in Nashville, KS.

She survives. Gene was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Nashville, KS, the Lutheran Laymen’s League, the American Legion Post 98, the Kingman County Council on Aging and the Liberty Township Board.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Eunice Hellman, are his children, Jennine (Albert) Marrone of Pittsburg, KS, Debra Hellman of Petaluma, CA, Lora (Richard) Hageman of Goddard, KS, and Steve (Mary) Hellman of Nashville, KS; one sister, Betty Holcomb of Buffalo, OK; Seven grandchildren, Denise (Hageman) Tucker, Darrel Hageman, Phillip Hellman, Chad Hellman, Adam Marrone, Alan Marrone, & Bryan Hellman; Eleven great-grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Nashville, KS with Pastor Dennis Fangmeyer officiating. Burial with military honors will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Nashville, KS. Memorials may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 98 or the Kingman County Council on Aging in care of the funeral home.
