Obituary for Geneva Lee Herndon Geneva Lee Herndon, age 88, of Greenbrier, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 10am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Richard Heatherly officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Kenny Harper, Josh England, Randy Harper, Danny Dugger, Wayne Burton and Darrell Herndon serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4-8pm and again on Tuesday from 9am until hour of service at 10am. Ms. Herndon was born July 8, 1930 in Springfield, TN to the late Willard McKinley and Louise McClura Travis Heatherly. She was a homemaker and was a member of Porters Chapel Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ernest Herndon; son, Gary Ernest Herndon; brothers, James, Tom, Willard, JR. , Tony and Charles Heatherly; and sisters, Mary Francis Harper and Josephine Cox. She is survived by her sons, Darrell Herndon and his wife Eva of Hendersonville and Dennis Herndon of Greenbrier; daughter, Betty Herndon of Greenbrier; brothers, HL Heatherly and his wife Polly of Gallatin, Richard Heatherly of Kentucky, John Heatherly and his wife Serena of Kentucky and Joe Heatherly of Cedar Hill; sisters, Elizabeth Anderson of Cedar Hill and Carolyn Dugger and her husband Burton of Joelton; grandchildren, Erin England, Emily Alsup, Jada Herndon, Howard Herndon, Clinton Herndon and Tangy Hood; and 11 great-grandchildren.
