Burlington – George Bernard Katrinak, 87, of Burlington passed away peacefully Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 26, 1931 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Katrinak joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 during the Korean War and served until 1956.

He graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1959 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Martin and Julia Katrinak; wife, Joanna Simmons Katrinak and brothers, John and Matthew Katrinak.

Surviving are his stepson, Steven Riddle and wife, Sandra of Mooresville, NC; three grandchildren, Matthew Riddle of Mooresville, NC, Jennifer Rainey and husband, David, of San Luis Obispo, California and Ryan Riddle and wife, Jennifer of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four great grandchildren, Wyatt and Mary Riddle and Carter and Paige Rainey; four sisters, Helen Topso of Los Angeles, California, Pauline Boldt of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Mary Dukovcic of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Dolores Dukovich of Moon Township, Pennsylvania; one brother, Stephen Albert Katrinak of Temple Terrace, Florida and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 11:00AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he was a longtime member who contributed to the life of the church.

The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church. A service of committal will take place following the service at Alamance Memorial Park. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell for the excellent care and kindness they provided and to all the many friends and family for their comforting support.
