Obituary for George Marcus “Mark” Gibson George Marcus “Mark” Gibson Age 83, of Coal City, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 10, 2018 at Joliet Area Community Hospice in Joliet, IL. Born November 8, 1934 in Leitchfield, KY to the late William M. and Frances (nee Basham) Gibson. Mark married the former Mildred Johnson on January 11, 1952 in Clarkson, KY, she survives.

He enjoyed woodworking, working outdoors and took great care of his yard. He also loved taking road trips and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially at their sporting events. Mark was known to be an avid sports fan, favoring the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Mildred “Millie” Gibson of Coal City, son, Steve (Kay) Gibson of Coal City; daughter, Paula (Kevin) Bunn of San Diego, CA; eight grandchildren, Chris, Brian, Greg, Aaron, Chad, Cassie, Andrew, and A.J.; 18 great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Sachar of Louisville, KY. Preceding him in death were his parents; and step-mother, Ola. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Bill White will officiate.

Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais, IL. The visitation will be Friday, September 14, from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his name may be directed to Joliet Area Community Hospice. R.W.
