Obituary for George W. Dobes George W. Dobes, 91, of Harmony Township, NJ passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital-Warren Campus in Phillipsburg, NJ. George was born in Wilson Borough, PA on September 23, 1927 to the late Gustave and Minnie W. Elwert Dobes. George was in shipping and sales with Dixie Cup of Easton, PA for 30 years and was owner of his own plastics recycling business, D&S of Harmony Township, for 30 years.

He served his country in the US Army. George was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Pohatcong Township for over 60 years. He was a member of Phillipsburg Lodge #52 F&AM, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Warren County #14, Valley of Allentown Scottish Rite and Rajah Shrine.

George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Hunt Dobes; a sister, Betty Jane Bertholet of Naples, FL; many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his 8 siblings. A Funeral Service for George will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11am at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine in Palmer Township, PA. In lieu of Flowers, memorials in George’s name may be made to The Children’s Home of Easton; 2000 S. 25th Street; Easton, PA 18042.
