Joan Marie DeGroff August 06, 1939 – January 27, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Joan Marie DeGroff, 79, of Lopatcong Township passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 with her husband of 55 years, Jesse, at her side. Born August 6, 1939 in Easton she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Holva) Burkevich. She was a 1958 graduate of Wilson High School.

She was loved by her family, and she especially adored her great-grandson, Aaron. Joan was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg. In addition to her loving husband, Jesse, she is survived by two daughters, Donna Heinrich and husband, Kevin, of Catasauqua, PA and Jean John of Boca Raton, FL; grandsons Kevin and his companion, Lauren, Matthew and Tyler; great-grandson Aaron; her twin sister Jean Steele; brother Joseph Burkevich and wife, Judy, of Bullhead City, AZ; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by brothers Delbert and Walter, Jr.; and sisters Catherine Herman and Irene Piatt. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to time of services in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, 3051 Green Pond Road, Palmer Township, PA. The family requests memorials to the Grace Lutheran Church, 300 Roseberry Street, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
