Franklin “Frank” R Sickle February 25, 1939 – February 13, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Franklin R. “Frank” Sickle, 79, of Palmer Township passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in Easton Hospital. Born February 25, 1939 in Mount Airy, NJ he was the son of the late Franklin R. and Helen (Lanning) Sickle. He was a district manager with Tenneco Automotive before his retirement.

After retirement he was employed part-time by Advanced Auto Parts in Easton. He and his wife, the former Marjorie Bonstein, were married August 25, 1973. Frank served in the Army during the Vietnam era.

He attended Wagner College and Upsala College. He raced modified cars at Nazareth and Flemington Speedway and enjoyed watching Nascar. He also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, RV camping, and Penn State University athletics.

He was also active in Palmer Township athletics. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Palmer Township; American Legion Post 164 in Hackettstown where he also served as Post Commander, then became Warren County Commander, Vice-State Commander, State Commander and Department Executive Committeeman. He was also the American Legion National Executive Committeeman.

In addition to his wife, Marjorie, he is survived by two sons John and wife, Kristen, of Camarillo, CA and Jeff and wife, Janene, of Penn Valley, PA; two daughters Helen Sickle and Kathy Emerick, both of Altoona, PA; a sister Kathleen Dankel and husband, Jim, of Murrells Inlet, SC; and seven grandchildren. He is predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Smith. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

During that time, American Legion services will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.. Burial will be in Greenwich Cemetery. The family requests memorials to your local American Legion.
