Patricia J Pat M Ginley, March 03, 1936 — February 11, 2019

Patricia J. “Pat” McGinley, 82, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Brakeley Park Center in Lopatcong Township. Pat was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on March 3, 1936 to the late Howard and Viola Wildrick Miller. Pat’s career was taking care of others.

She always said she was a mother first and that her boys meant everything to her. Pat worked part time at Family Liquor Store alongside the love of her life, Harold Schlesinger, whom she lost in 2013. She was Pat.

She was an extremely hard worker. Pat was a nurses assistant at Warren Haven for over 20 years before opening her own personal care facility in 1979 on Mill Street in Phillipsburg. She eventually moved her operation to Pen Argyl, PA, retiring in 2002.

In 1990, she opened Pet Authority, Inc in Harrisburg, PA and turned it over to her son in 1997. Pat’s love of animals lasted throughout her life and was a family trait that she got from her mother and passed on to everyone. Pat will be remembered for her generosity and caring throughout her family and friends.

Pat attended Stewartsville Presbyterian Church in Stewartsville, NJ. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Warren County and the ASPCA for many years. Pat is survived by her sons, Robert W. Steele and his wife, Kathy of Stewartsville, NJ, Edwin T McGinley III and his wife, Bobbie of Pen Argyl, PA, Thomas E. McGinley and his husband, Michael of Harrisburg, PA and Kenneth P. McGinley and his wife, Meryl of Harmony Township, NJ; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her companion of 35 years, Harold Schlesinger and sisters, Margaret Oberly and Fay Makarevich. A Funeral Service for Pat will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 12 noon at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held 11am until service time.

Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shine in Palmer Township, PA.
