Jean K. Wagner, 96, of Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Jean was born in Allentown, PA on April 3, 1922 to the late Elwood S. Rasely and Mazie Souders Rasely Stevens. She was wife of the late William T. Wagner, who passed in 1998.

Jean was a payroll clerk with JT Baker Chemical Co. of Phillipsburg, NJ. She was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1939. Jean enjoyed writing poetry about her daily happenings, always expressing God’s promises supporting her.

The Joy of Jean’s life was her Lord, which reflected in her life. Jean was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Phillipsburg where she wore “many hats”, to include teaching Sunday School for 30 years, serving on various church boards and committees, Senior Choir, Lay Leader, and serving as First Woman President of the Board of Trustees. Jean served on the Board of Elections, was the 1st Historian of the Methodist Manor Auxillary, and member of the Musical Arts Chorus of Easton.

She was also a Warren Hospital Chapel Volunteer for 31 years, serving as Coordinator. For the last 30 years Jean called Heath Village and Trinity United Methodist Church in Hackettstown her home, where she took an active part in both. At Heath Village she served as Greeter, was on the Building and Grounds Committee, Hospitality Chairperson of the Martha Circle, was Pianist and organist for Sunday Vespers, participate in the chorus, Bell Choir, Friendly Visitors and Ceramic Group.

Jean also gave her time as a tutor at Hatchery Hill School. Jean is survived by a number of cousins and a niece. A Graveside Service for Jean will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11am at Fairmount Cemetery; 123 Belvidere Road; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
