Marian Viola Flexer Miller, 92, life-long resident of Huntington, Pohatcong Township, NJ passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Moravian Village in Bethlehem, PA. Marian was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on April 20, 1926 to the late Charles A. and Maude E. Miller Flexer. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Miller, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage prior to his passing on January 23, 1994.

Marian was, at one time, employed by the Canister Co. office in Phillipsburg, NJ. She was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School Class of 1944, of which she was President of her class. Marian had a great interest in collecting dolls.

The Fork is symbolic to Marian. The “Save your Fork” story can best be equated with her, as she always enjoyed all kinds of desserts. Now, “the best is yet to come”, is the reality of God’s promise of eternal life for her.

Marian was a life-long member of St. James Lutheran Church (Straw Church) in Pohatcong Township, where in early years she was a Sunday School teacher and served on the Cemetery Board. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, #50, Phillipsburg, NJ for 65 years, a member of the Forks of the Deleware Doll Club, the “Red Gems” of the Red Hats of Phillipsburg, and the Met-Ed Retirees Association of Easton, PA. Marian is survived by nephews, Raymond C. Flexer and his wife, Mary Alice of Montague, NJ and Jerry W. Miller of Palmer Township, PA; nieces, Robin L. Weihermuller and her husband, Wayne of Fort Pierce, FL, Vicki N. Vasquez of Palmer Township, PA and Deborah Wolfe and her husband, Douglas of Farmington, WV; a Dear God-daughter, Kathleen E. Smith of Williams Township, PA; great-nephews, Brian and Kevin Flexer, Brandon Vasquez, Matthew M. Miller MD, Cy, Brent and Travis Wolfe; great-nieces, Lisa Mantoni and Jolie Paulus.

Marion was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Miller; brother, Carl Flexer; and sister-in-law, Louise Flexer. A Funeral Service for Marian will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11am at St. James Lutheran Church; 1213 US-Route 22; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 4pm to 6pm at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
