James “Ick” E Fleming, Sr. September 07, 1934 – February 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card James E. “Ick” Fleming, Sr. 84, of Palmer Township, formerly of Pohatcong Township died peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, February 23, 2019 at home. Born September 7, 1934 in Easton he was the son of the late William and Mildred (Kimble) Fleming. His wife, M. Joan Fleming, passed away earlier.

He was an inspector with Automatic Sprinkler Corp in Kenilworth, NJ before his retirement. He was a 1954 graduate of Phillipsburg High School and served in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and enjoyed playing golf, poker and dancing.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church; an associate member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in Tarpon Springs, FL; a charter member of the Firthtown Boys Club; past-President of Phillipsburg Jaycees; member of Northwest A.A. (Football Officials) for 20 years where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004; the Bernadine May American Legion; Exempt Volunteer Fireman with Huntington Volunteer Fire Company; life member of Huntington Home Association; life member of Safety First Fire Co.; former member of Phillipsburg F & AM, Lodge 52; member of Warren County Tall Cedars of Lebanon, where he was also past Scribe; Tall Cedars Forest #14 of North America; past member and past Treasurer of Pohatcong Playground Association; life member of the Tall Cedars Foundation; Warren County Commercial Bowling for 20 years, where he served as President for 3 years; and Easton Masonic Lodge #152. He is survived by four sons James, Jr. (Patty) of North Port, FL, William M. (Barbara) of Holland Township, Barry (Lori) of Pohatcong Township and Brian (Kathy) of Forks Township; two daughters Jan Marie Rossetti (Mike) of Pohatcong Township and Joy Marie Regitz (Mike) of Palmer, PA; ten grandchildren, Julie, Kelli, Kevin, Holly, Alyssa, Michael, Nicole, Rachel, Kristen and Michael; and 2 great-grandchildren, EJ and Aidan. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by a brother Jack; and five half-brothers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 695 Corliss Ave, Phillipsburg, NJ. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to time of services in the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.
