Samuel A. Ayoub, Sr., 88, of Bloomsbury, NJ passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital-Warren Campus in Phillipsburg, NJ. Samuel was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on February 7, 1931 to the late Anthony and Mary Saleite Ayoub Samuel taught Math and Industrial Arts at South Plainfield High School in South Plainfield, NJ for many years. In his retirement, he was co-owner of Sammy’s Drive-In of Greenwich Township and also owned a Laundromat.

He graduated from King’s College in Wilkes Barre, where he played football. Samuel proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Samuel enjoyed being with his family.

Samuel was a member of 1st Lutheran Church of Stewartsville, NJ. Samuel is survived his wife of 64 years, Norma Carr Ayoub; sons, Michael P. Ayoub and his wife Andrea of Lower Mount Bethel, PA, James R. Ayoub and wife Audrey of Allen Township, PA and Thomas C. Ayoub of Phillipsburg, NJ; daughter, Sharon Santini and her husband Robert of Pohatcong Township, NJ; grandchildren, Samantha, James, Jr. , Anthony, Nicholas, Zach, Joseph, Michelle, Robert, Jr., and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Max, and Isabella; and a sister, MaryAnn. Samuel was predeceased by son, Samuel A. Ayoub, Jr.; and sisters, Margaret, Betty, Jeanie, and Shirley A Funeral Service for Samuel will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 11am at The 1st Lutheran Church; 545 N. Main Street; Stewartsville, NJ 08886.

A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held Monday, March 4, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865 and on Tuesday, March 5 from 10am until service time at the church. Interment will be in Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made in Samuel’s name to the National Kidney Foundation; 30 East 33rd Street; #3; New York, NY 10016.
