Obituary for George W. Spencer George W. Spencer, age 73 a resident of Northville passed away on Thursday March 29, 2018. He was born at Nathan Littauer Hospital on July 10, 1944. He was the son of the late William and Gaynelle Dimick Spencer.

He served in the United States National Guard from 1962 – 1968. He was employed as a machinist for General Electric in Schenectady until retiring and then owned and operated GW Spencer Woodworking and Sharpening in Northville, NY. Over the past few years he has been doing work with National Jukebox Exchange in Mayfield.

George enjoyed working in his shop, stock car racing, telling his jokes and watching the the local Falcon sports teams. As well as supporting his granddaughter in their school activities. He served as coordinator and member of the Northville ambulance service for many years.

He will forever be remembered by his wife of 55 years, Sherryl Ann Spencer. Children, Deanna (Jeff) Ostrander, Dean (Brandi) Spencer, Darlene Monfils, Dyan Damm, Darcy (Chad) Ruliffson. He was a proud grandfather of 14 and great grandfather of 8.

He is also survived by his sister Rosie (Clayton) Wilson, brother Thomas (Sharon) Spencer, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his siblings Ivan Shiels, Marti Shiels, and Sara Cook. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday April 5, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 6 pm.
