Gerald Drake February 13, 1939 – March 16, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card A visitation for Gerald Drake, 80, of Hudson will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Mr. Drake was born February 13, 1939 in Starks, Louisiana to the late Martha (Poole) and Lawrence Drake, and died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Drake was a Heavy Machine Operator and worked for Jimmy Horton, R.H. Duncan, and Hudson I.S.D. He was an avid collector of cast iron and coins. He enjoyed gardening and loved visiting with people.

Survivors include his children, Glen Drake of Douglas, Keven Drake and Angela of Pflugerville, Michelle Shanks and John and Gerald Lawrence Drake, all of Hudson; grandchildren, Thomas Drake, Russell DiVittorio, Aaron Drake, Galen Drake, Kiril Drake, Emlyn Drake, Sera Drake, John Shanks, and Jacob Shanks; beloved neighbor, Tommy Tubbs of Hudson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Levenia “Lou” Drake and numerous siblings. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Parker, Kenneth Cox, Tommy Parker, Nick Horton, and Randy Nerren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hospice in the Pines for their loving care. Memories and condolences may be added at www.
