Bob Morgan June 22, 1935 – March 07, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Memorial services for Bob Morgan, 83, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Lufkin First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jerome Brimmage officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the services at Crown Colony Country Club.
Private burial will be held in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Morgan was born June 22, 1935 in Douglass, Texas to the late Annie (Rogers) and Obert Morgan, and died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Morgan graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1953 and Stephen F. Austin State University in 1961.
He founded Morgan Insurance Agency in Lufkin in 1962. Mr. Morgan served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for eight years. He was a founder of the Nacogdoches High School Alumni Association.
He was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Morgan was an active member of the Lufkin Evening Lions Club and Lufkin Rotary Club. He was a member of Lufkin First United Methodist Church and Musselwhite Sunday school class.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Susan Morgan of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Roger Sanders, Cindy and Jeff Taylor, Susanne and David Lively, Lesa and Ray McMains, all of Lufkin; daughter and wife, Jacqueline Bresie and Carole Keefe of Austin; grandchildren, Sarah Morgan, Scott Morgan, Chancey Sanders, Jacob Sanders, Aiden Sanders, Maxwell Sanders, Jay Taylor, Jamie Taylor, Chrystal Tamillo, Justin Havard, Ben Lively, Amy Bruner, and Avery Keefe; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Muckleroy of Nacogdoches; sister-in-law, Margie Reynolds of The Woodlands; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret Ann (Chancey) Morgan; second wife, Sue (Coleman) Morgan; and brothers, Hoyt Morgan and Kenneth Morgan. Pallbearers will be Scott Morgan, Jacob Sanders, Aiden Sanders, Maxwell Sanders, Craig Reynolds, and Kyle Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Coward, Jim Riggs, Phillip Pate, Bill Simpson, Bill Ricks, and Tim Healy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christians Men’s Job Corps, 1813 E. Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901, Lufkin First United Methodist Church, 805 E. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
