Jim Marvin Risinger August 26, 1941 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Funeral services for Jim Marvin Risinger, 77, of Lufkin will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brad Selby officiating. Interment will follow in the Burketown Cemetery in Trinity County with a reception following from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Carroway Family Reception Room. Mr. Risinger was born August 26, 1941 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Edna (Ford) and James Marvin Risinger, and died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Risinger was a lifelong resident of Lufkin and graduated from Lufkin High School. He was a butcher, rancher and an auctioneer. He and his wife owned and operated Jim’s Smokehouse and Just Texas Processing and he worked at Southwest Color for 20 years.

He retired from Angelina County as County Commissioner of Precinct 3. Mr. Risinger was of the Nazarene faith. Survivors include his sons, Kirk Risinger of Lufkin and Ronny Risinger and wife Tina of Round Rock; daughter, Gail Michalek and husband Dave of Friendswood; grandchildren, Adam, Jenna, Emily, Erin, and Eric; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2010, Carolyn Burke Risinger; and sister, Tommie Sue Moudry. Pallbearers will be Kim Reynolds, Steven Looney, Fred Flournoy, Bill Moser, Jr., Robert Hunt and Paul Fenley. Honorary pallbearer will be Herman D. Harvey and David Crain.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be added, and live webcasting of the services may be viewed at www. carrowayfuneralhome.com.
