Memorial services for Richard Troy Hancock, 56, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Temple of Lufkin with Bro. Christopher Morehead officiating. A reception will follow the memorial service at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.

Mr. Hancock was born January 1, 1963, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Rev. Richard Angelo Hancock and Virginia Joann (Robinson) Hancock, and died Thursday, May 23, 2019 in Lufkin. Mr. Hancock enjoyed preaching, singing and fishing.

He loved the Colorado mountains and his family. Mr. Hancock is survived by his first love, Janet Marie Hancock of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Chad Hancock of Divide, CO; son, Trent Hancock of Woodland Park, CO; son, Zane Hancock of Florissant, CO; son, Luke Hancock of Woodland Park, CO; son, Jake Hancock of Woodland Park, CO; 6 grandchildren; parents, Rev. Richard and Virginia Hancock of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Erin Hancock of Huntington; sister, Miranda Hancock of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Pat Morehead of Huntington; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Myrtle Robinson; grandfather, Clifford Robinson; grandfather, Richard Franklin Hancock; and grandmother, Jewel Barnes. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
