Funeral services for Luther Carroll Dover, 80, of Beulah, will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home with Pastor David Goodwin, Reverend Dick Phillips and Keith Dover officiating. Interment will follow at Fielder’s Cemetery of Bald Hill. Mr. Dover was born July 26, 1938 in Alto, Texas, the son of Meredith David Washington Dover and Sybil Whitten Dover, and died Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Lufkin.

Mr. Dover was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was a candy maker and was called the “Candyman”. He was a volunteer fireman for Diboll for 20 years.

Mr. Dover is survived by his wife Ann Dover; sons, Luther Dover and wife, Janice of Magnolia, TX; Gary Dover and wife Cathy, of Beulah, TX; Keith Dover and wife Melinda, of Beulah, TX; Daniel Dover, of Beulah, TX; his grandchildren, Andrew Dover and wife Maci of Lufkin; Austin Dover of Galveston, TX; Rachel Kosh and husband Clay of Alexandria, VA; Allen Dover of College Station, TX; Jeffrey Dover of Beulah, TX; MeKayla Dover of Beulah, TX; Matthew Dover of Magnolia, TX; and great-grandson, Garrett Dover of Lufkin. The Pallbearers will be Andrew Dover, Austin Dover, Allen Dover, Jeffrey Dover, Matthew Dover, Chris Hambrick, Seth Anthony, Darryl Jones. Special memorials may be made to the Diboll First United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Diboll Volunteer Fire Department.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2019 at Shafer Funeral Home. Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
