Graveside services for Leesa (Suzie)Terstegen, 61, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Gann Cemetery with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating. Mrs. Terstegen was born December 3, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of Bill and Janie Bridges Stroud, and died Friday, March 1, 2019 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Terstegen was an avid goat farmer whom was known throughout the United States. She was a former board of directors’ member for the East Texas Goat Raiser Association. Mrs. Terstegen loved her dachshund, Cosmo, was very good with children, and loved working with 4-H youth.

She is survived by her husband, Egbert W. Terstegen of Hudson; son, Chad Rice and wife, Robin of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Buddy Stroud of Lufkin; sister, Julie McClain and husband, George of Lufkin; along with 3 nieces and their spouses, Jennifer and Jesse Davis of Round Rock, TX, Leesa and Tanis Easthagen of Kyle, TX, and Stephanie McClain of Lufkin. Mrs. Terstegen was preceded in death by her mother, Janie Bridges Stroud. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
