Jimmie Faye Milligan April 13, 1936 – March 05, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Funeral services for Jimmie Faye Milligan, 82, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Hedges officiating. She will be interred in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Jimmie passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in Lufkin, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 13, 1936 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Bergys (Whitlock) and Clifford James Burris. Jimmie had been a member of the Lufkin Mary Hall Mantooth Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas since 1986. She especially loved Texas history and genealogy, researching about her past and her family coming to Texas.

Jimmie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a very giving mother, sister and grandmother to her family. Always loving them and taking special care to make each one feel special.

Survivors include her children, Paula Christian and husband Mike of Cleburne, Steve Milligan and wife Sarah of Lufkin, Carrie Mettlen and husband Craig of Pollok; grandchildren, Julie Hampton and husband Doug, Laura Robison and husband Bryan, all of Cleburne, Brett Bortnem and wife Lauren of Magnolia, Cade Milligan of College Station, Ryan Milligan of Lufkin, and Colton Mettlen of Pollok; great-grandchildren Mila Bortnem, Alden Bortnem, Weston Hampton, Harrison Hampton, and Andie Faye Robison; brothers, C.B. Burris and wife Jean and David Burris and wife Kathy, all of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Jean Milligan of Lufkin and Nina Milligan of Katy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar M. Milligan; sister-in-law, Clarkie Mae Brown; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Milligan and William Milligan, Special thanks go to her caregivers at CHI St. Luke’s Hospital, third floor nurses, Castle Pines Nursing Home nurses and staff, and Heart to Heart Hospice staff. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 571, Lufkin, Texas 75902 or Heart to Heart Hospice, 2102 S. John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
