Frances Pearl Armstrong Hanson January 25, 1924 – March 08, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Funeral services for Frances Pearl Armstrong Hanson, 95, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mardy Guidry officiating. Graveside services will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Jackson Cemetery in Shelby County. Mrs. Hanson was born January 25, 1924 in Douglass, Texas to the late Della (Smith) and Henry V. Armstrong, and died Friday, March 8, 2019 in a local nursing home.

Formerly of Center, Mrs. Hanson had resided in Lufkin for 43 years. She worked in the cafeteria at Hudson ISD for 15 years and had served as a Cub Scout Leader and Den Mother. Mrs. Hanson was fondly referred to as a dinosaur; they don’t make them like her anymore.

She was very energetic, dressed elegantly, was very aware of her appearance, and met her goal of living to 95. She was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. Mrs. Hanson was a member of Mt.

Carmel Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, LaDeva and Richard McGee of Hudson; sons and daughters-in-law, George Elton, Jr. and Judy Hanson of Angleton, Lowell and Sarah Hanson of the Woods Community in Panola County; grandchildren and their spouses, Alan and Robin Burnett, Dacia and Sid Ballow, Carla and Dale Hite, Ricky and Glenda McGee, Chrissie and Steve Leshikar, Keith and Pam Malzman, Brenda and Travis Sakellaridis, Kevin Hanson, Dustin and Nikki Hanson; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nelda Lawson of Alto; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Elton Hanson, Sr. in 2001; grandson, Pat Burnett; and six brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Alan Burnett, Justin Jordan, Stephen Burnett, Kevin Hanson, and Dustin Hanson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 151125, Lufkin, Texas 75915.
