Bina Louise Melancon October 19, 1948 – March 09, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card A Celebration of Life for Bina Louise Melancon, 70, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gary Forrest and Brother Jackson Colwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Melancon was born October 19, 1948 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Doris (Sims) and Ralph Hassett, and died Saturday, March 9, 2019 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Melancon was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. She was a clerk/office assistant for Texas Power & Light (now Oncor) for 46 years. She was a volunteer for Special Olympics for several years.

Mrs. Melancon loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with family. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Leroy Melancon of Lufkin; daughter, Belinda Melancon of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Christi Melancon of Lufkin; granddaughters, Maci Southern and Kassidy Melancon, both of Lufkin; grandsons, Tyler “Ty” Southern and fiancée Kaylee Carroll of Livingston, Kade Melancon and Karson Melancon, both of Lufkin; great-granddaughter, Katie Southern of Livingston; niece, Leean Bozeman and husband Chris of Huntington; and great-nephew, Adam Coxwell of Huntington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cookie Dyer. Pallbearers will be Jerry Holland, Bobby Jacks, Jimmy Sheffield, Gary Flowers, Howard Daniel, and Gary Ray. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkview Baptist Church Building Fund, 111 Parkview Circle, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be added at www. carrowayfuneralhome.com.
