Obituary for Gerald (Jerry) Burr Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at his home. Age 82 years. The son of the late Alonzo and Anita (Haupt) Burr, Jerry was born July 8, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of V.F.W. Post #1859. Jerry married Carol Ann Strauman on September 15, 1956. She survives him.

He was employed at Grey Iron Foundry as a supervisor for 35 years until his retirement. Jerry was a member of St. John Paul II Parish where he often volunteered. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4232.

Jerry was a great outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. He especially loved attending his grandchildren’s activities. Surviving besides his wife Carol are two daughters and one son, Katrina Hart, Kathleen and David Abbs, Michael and Mary Burr, all of Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Jonathon, Stephen, Cullen, Jacob, Jenna and Breanne; two sisters and one brother, Julie Knueppel, Onalaska, Wisconsin; Connie Burr, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; Mike Burr, McGregor, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Kavon, Mt.

Horeb, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers, Mary Lynn (Tony) Berns, Robert Burr and Lawrence (Butch) Burr. Gerald’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Suhasini Gudipati and Reverence Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Road in Saginaw. Rev. Fr.

Richard E. Jozwiak will officiate. Private burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.

, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Josaphat Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A Vigil Service, led by Sister Christine Gretka, CSJ, will take place 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
