Obituary for Gerald “Jerry” Hollabaugh Sr. Gerald L. “Jerry” Hollabaugh, Sr., 76, Bellwood died Monday morning October 8, 2018 at his home. He was born October 14, 1941 in Bellwood son of the late Gerald B. and Ethel O. (Moorehead) Hollabaugh. On March 12, 1966, he married Beverly J. McGinnis at Logan’s Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood.

Surviving are his wife; a grandson, Gerald L., III (Rachel) of Altoona; three great grandchildren, Gerald L. IV, Braydon Martin and Dawn Elizabeth Hollabaugh; several nieces and nephews, especially Sandy and Lance Forbes. He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald L. II on Nov. 2, 2016; an infant brother, Calvin; a sister, Erma Baldwin; and a nephew, Johnny Baldwin.

Jerry was a 1961 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He retired in 2003 as a machinist at Small Tubes Products, Duncansville after 37 years of service.

Jerry was a member of Logan’s Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood. He was a life member of Excelsior Fire Company No. 1 Bellwood where he volunteered for 56 years, attending fire calls and driving fire trucks until the age of 74.

For many years during the early days of the Bellwood ambulance service he served as an EMT and driver. In 1991, he held the title of State Champion Silhouette Shooter having a perfect score. Jerry loved his family and many friends.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Wednesday Oct. 10, 2018 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood where a firemen’s service will be held at 6pm. A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday, Oct.

11, 2018 at the funeral home, Rev. Funteller Jackson officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jerry’s memory may be made to Logan’s Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood or Central PA Humane Society, Altoona.
