OBITUARY Geraldine Cannarella June 20, 1919 – December 29, 2018 Geraldine Jane (LoSchiavo) Cannarella of Wethersfield died peacefully on December 29, 2018, after a brief illness. She was the devoted and proud wife of the late Jack Cannarella, longtime owner of Freeman Drug Company in Hartford. Gerrie was born in Waterbury on June 20, 1919, to Arthur and Anna (D’Angelo) LoSchiavo.

She graduated from Bulkeley High School and for several years worked for Worth’s department store in Hartford as a fashion buyer, model, and bookkeeper. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, and friend, and a talented artist, cook, and homemaker. Her family was her joy.

She leaves four children: daughters Geraldine Bellobuono and Deborah Cannarella of Wethersfield, son Francis and his wife Linda (Pulito) Cannarella of Rocky Hill, and son John and his wife Susan (Morin) Cannarella of Clinton. She also leaves eight grandchildren (Christopher and his wife Frances (Lorenzi) Bellobuono, Michael and his wife Lauren (Cardone) Bellobuono, Jonathan and his wife Cassandra (Sawyer) Bellobuono, Lisa SanMartino and her husband Anthony, Amy Blanco and her husband Paul, Jeanne Cannarella, Amanda Stabile and her husband Nicholas, and Emily Minea and her husband Stefan), fifteen great-grandchildren (Alexandra McCarthy; Patrick Jones; Sam, Joey, and Charley Bellobuono; Brooke and Michael Bellobuono; Anthony, Ava, Lola, and Maria SanMartino; Annabella, Sofia, and Paul Blanco; and Leo Jack Stabile). She also leaves her sisters, Anna Nolan of Berlin and Rae Leone of Wethersfield, and her sister-in-law Gira LoSchiavo of Wethersfield, along with many greatly loved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gerrie was predeceased by her brothers, Gustave, Arthur, and Anthony LoSchiavo; and by her son-in-law Michael C. Bellobuono. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield.

Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4pm-7pm at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield.
