Obituary for Glenda Faye Richardson Mrs. Glenda Wilson Richardson, 78, of Bowdon, Georgia passed away on December 10, 2018 after a lengthy illness surrounded by her children Billy, Debbie, Angela and James. She was born in Bowdon on May 22, 1940, the daughter of the late Lloyd Maxwell (Pete) Wilson and Pauline Wright Wilson. Glenda began her working career at Sewell Manufacturing Company and later Smithfield Manufacturing Company where her hard work and exceptional skills were recognized, and she was promoted to the management level.

Her accomplishments in the clothing industry led to work in various locations in Georgia, Tennessee, New Hampshire and, even, South America. After her father died in 1988, she returned to the family’s homeplace on Tarpley Street in Bowdon and worked at Custom Fabric Forming in Carrollton where she retired in 2005, after working for a total of 50 years in her life. Glenda and her husband truly loved the Christmas season and enjoyed displaying an assortment of lights in their yard and having a Christmas tree in each room of their house.

They even dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, opening their home to the children of the community and providing home baked cookies for them to enjoy. Glenda dearly loved adventures and travel with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was the epitome of a devoted parent.

Survivors include her husband Robert Richardson of Bowdon; son Billy McGuire, and his wife, Debbie of Baxley, Georgia; her daughter, Angela Cambas and her husband, James of Newnan, Georgia; brother, James Wilson of Hollywood, Maryland; and sister, Paula Wilson Steed of Carrollton. Surviving grandchildren are Brian Evans (Jamie), Brandy Medders, Candice Osterhous (Tiffany), Dustin McGuire (Danielle), James Cambas (Sylvia} and Curtis Cambas. Surviving great grandchildren are Makaelah, Makainah, Kody and Kolton Evans; Katelyn and Joslyn Gibbs; Alyssa Glass; Jaden and Brayden Robinson; Chasity and Travis McGuire; Andrew, Courtney and Kaylee Cambas.
