Gloria Dean Ellis January 29, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Gloria Dean Malone Ellis, 71 of Gaston passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Halifax Regional Medical Center. Gloria was born July 29, 1947 in Halifax County to the late Thomas Buck Malone and Hattie Belle Finch Malone. She was also preceded in death by two brother, Floyd Tripp and Donald Ray Malone; her granddaughter, Paula Lynn Cannon.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law. She loved going to church and believed in prayer. She loved cooking, flowers, plants, traveling, shopping and eating out.

Gloria is survived by her husband, William Ellis of the home; her children, Chuck Cannon and his significant other Beverly Thompson of Darlington, and Teresa Hawkins and her husband Richard of Roanoke Rapids; her sister, Derenda Clements and her husband Bobby of Gaston; her grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Tippett and his wife Sharon; her great-grandchildren, Leila Rose Tippett and Ivy Lynn Tippett; her niece and nephew, Cindy Pitsenburger and Scott Vick. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 3, 2019 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Toney Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the funeral home and other times at the home. Online condolences may be sent to www.
