Joshua was born September 4, 1993 in Halifax County. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Corey Johnson; his maternal grandparents, George and Ella Sledge; his paternal grandparents, David and Betty Johnson.

He is survived by his mother Brenda Sledge Lee and his step-fathers, Tony Johnson and Roger Lee; his sisters, Ashley Johnson and her fiancé Sterling Holcomb, Jr. and Tamara Lee and her boyfriend Toney Brock all of Roanoke Rapids; his brothers, Jason Sledge of Spruce Pine, NC and Steve Conner of Nashville, NC; his aunts and uncles, Mama Bear and Papa Bear of Virginia and Bobby Johnson of Roanoke Rapids; his great uncle and aunt, Starlon Ray and Miranda Higgins Barnette of Shelby, NC; his sister-in-law, Melissa Sledge of Knightdale, NC; his nieces and nephews, J. J. Sledge, Memphis Sledge, Amhyleigh Sledge, Caitlin Conner, McKenzie Conner and Zoe Conner; his cousins, Nichole Tanner and her fiancé Carl Miller, Brittany Odom, Tammy Fajna and Timmy Fajna; his close friends, Corey Turner, Rell, Hope Clark and her children, Savy and Tori, Will Bierman, Chris Clements. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Wayne White officiating.
