Gloria L. Duyck, 92, a longtime Sterling Heights resident passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 20, 2019. She was born on May 11, 1926 in Utica. She was a lifetime member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Utica and a member of the St. Lawrence Altar Society.

She and her husband would often furnish the Thanksgiving meal for the Sisters at the convent. She married Cyril Duyck on July 19, 1947 celebrating 54 years of marriage before his death in 2002. They settled in Sterling Heights where they raised their family of nine children.

Having been raised on her parents farm at Twenty-one Mile and Hayes Road she loved to garden and maintained a garden at her home until three years ago. While raising her children she also enjoyed playing cards and both she and her husband loved to dance especially the polka and waltz. She is survived by her children Nancy Duyck, Kristine Williams, Richard (Sandra) Duyck, Karen Duyck, Lori Duyck, James Duyck, Lisa (Steve) Gilbert, son in law Robert Green and daughter in law Roberta Duyck.

12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Strauss of Lewiston, Yvonne Barg of Utica and Marie Stelter of Shelby Twp. Besides her husband Cyril, she was predeceased by her daughter Judy Green and son Michael Duyck, sister Carolyn Noteboom and brothers Leon and Carl Delmotte and dear friend Edward Provost.

Visitation is 4:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday and 2:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Rd. (3 blks.

E. of Van Dyke) Utica. Funeral Mass on Friday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Rd. , Utica.
