Grace Elizabeth Speary , May 08, 1918 — July 24, 2018

Grace Elizabeth Speary, 100, formerly of Muncy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Wolf Run Village, Hughesville, where she had resided the past several years. Born May 8, 1918 in East Palestine, OH, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lulu (Confer) Foust. She married Bernard T. Speary in February of 1942, who preceded her in death June 14, 1984.

Together they celebrated 42 years of marriage. Grace was a 1936 graduate of Muncy High School and later the former Miss Susie L. Wheaton School of business, Williamsport. Following her schooling, she worked in the Muncy School district cafeteria.

Grace later worked many years performing clerical duties at the former Montgomery Mills and the former Muncy Chief Hybrids. Grace was a member of the Muncy Baptist Church, which was a large part of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, counted cross stitching and sewing.

Grace especially liked making children’s clothing, baby blankets and providing many mission donations with her beautiful work. She was also well known as an outstanding cook. Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ron Speary, of Fort Ashby, WV, and Gary and Carol Speary, of Green Cove Spring, FL; one daughter and son-in-law, Bernadine and Bill Snyder, of Manheim; one brother, Frank Foust, of Muncy; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one son, Edward A. Speary; and one sister, Ruth Hoffman. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 1 at Muncy Baptist Church, 11 W. Penn St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Robert W. Rice, officiating.

Interment will be held in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Nordmont, at 2:30 p.m. The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Grace’s name be made to either the Muncy Baptist Church, 11 W. Penn St., Muncy, PA 17756 or Wolf Run Village, 3750 Rt. 220 Hwy. , Hughesville, PA 17737.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
