Grace Marie Whitty, 87, of Lakeville passed away suddenly October 31, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedfrod, MA from a stroke. She was the wife of the late Robert Peter Whitty. Born July 20, 1931 in Stoughton, MA she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward Ivaldi and Grace Edwina Weatherbee.

She was a graduate of Faulkner School of Nursing and has lived in Lakeville MA with daughter’s family. Marie was an ER nurse in her 20s, and became part time to care for her children. She then became a bookkeeper for 25 plus years for her father’s business Ivaldi Motor’s in Stoughton, after that many years for her son Michael’s business.

Onto managing an assisted living home the Gabriel House in Fall River. She always wanted to keep busy and was a nurse receptionist at Liberty St. in Brockton until she retired in the early 2000’s. Then she spent much of her time helping out with her daughter’s children.

Marie loved to spend time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and family. She also liked to knit and sew when she was able.

Marie was a HUGE Patriots fan in her later years, and would never want to miss a game. Years after her husband Robert of 42 years of marriage had passed, Marie shared a wonderful relationship with Robert Price now of Framingham. She is survived by her son Christopher Whitty and his wife Kathleen, son Jeffrey Whitty and his wife Karen, daughter in law Mary, and daughter Kimberly Spratt and her husband Christopher; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville, MA. Interment will follow in Pleasant Street Cemetery in Raynham, MA. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2-5 PM in the Funeral Home.
