Grace Ann Tassone August 19, 1921 – July 14, 2018 On July 14, 2018, I was freed from the limitations of my body and was able to offer my soul to Our Creator. Please celebrate the joys of my life. I was born on August 19,1921, in Wooster, Ohio to James and Bessie Vaughan.

I never attended the same grade school for 2 years in a row because of my dad’s job. Finally settling down in Idaho, I entered high school in American Falls. As an accomplished musician, I played the trumpet and saxophone.

In 1938, our marching band had the honor of appearing in the Rose Parade. After graduation, I attended Idaho State University where I met Vince Tassone, the love of my life. Following World War II, Vince and I were married on October 7, 1946.

Together we owned and operated Vince’s Hospital Drug for many happy years. I have now joined my husband Vince, my daughter Terry and grandson Brian Hunter. I am survived by my children: Sharon (Marty) Hunter of Silverton, Oregon, Bob (Sherrie Branz) of Ogden, Utah, Paul (Jamie Sit) of McKinney, TX.

and Kellie of Washington, D.C., 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. I was fortunate to serve in many organizations: Woman’s Legislative Council, Business and Professional Woman, The St. Joseph’s Booster Club, and the Mount Ogden and St. Mary’s Ski Clubs. As many of you know, I loved to play sports….

from skating in the Sun Valley Ice Show in 1938 to skiing, golfing and playing tennis well into my 70’s. Think of me when you are on the tennis court, skiing down the slopes or enjoying a pool party! I am very, very grateful to the caregivers of George E. Wahlen Veterans Home for five years of letting me be part of their family.

Good-bye to all my new friends and acquaintances. I will miss you. Also, a special thanks to Comfort Worx Hospice for making my last days as pleasant as possible.

On Aug. 7th at 11:00 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 1100 E. 5550 S., Ogden Utah. Condolences may be offered prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Graveside services will follow the mass at Washington Heights Cemetery located at 4500 S. Washington Blvd. A light lunch will follow. Location will be provided at services.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request donations be made to the Catholic Community Services of Ogden, St. Joseph’s Schools or the Charity of their choice.
