Nancy Jean Vance Osborne August 29, 1934 – July 16, 2018 Nancy Jean Vance Osborne, of Hooper, Utah, was born in Jenkinjones, West Virginia in 1934, the only child of Adrian Ray Vance and Thelma Vickers Vance. Nancy peacefully passed through the veil of mortality on July 16, 2018 while holding the hand of her daughter, Karen Osborne Rowe. Nancy was preceded in passing by the recent death of Drake Rowe, her grandson.

Nancy died from the natural effects of advanced age. Remaining behind as Nancy passes into her next phase of life are her husband of sixty-six years, Manuel Bryan Osborne, five children: Timothy Ray Osborne of Shelton, Washington; Rodney Bryan Osborne, Livermore, California; Karen Sue Osborne Rowe, Clearfield, Utah; John Andrew Osborne, Scottsdale, Arizona and Sharon (Sherry) Kay Osborne Foster, Clearfield, Utah. She also leaves behind ten living grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Nancy and Manuel grew up rural McDowell County, West Virginia which was a thriving coal mining area during the mid-20th Century. They attended Gary High School where Nancy was a majorette and she and Manuel were high school sweethearts. The couple were married in 1952 after Manuel joined the U.S. Air Force.

Their assignments in the Air Force led them to live in Maine, Ohio, Spain, North Carolina, Michigan, the Philippines, and, finally, Utah. Nancy was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived to serve her husband, children and grandchildren and she did so with total unselfishness.

Until the last few years when her health would not permit it, Nancy was very energetic. She insisted on a clean house and she loved to walk and work out. Nancy also loved her animals, but her favorite was a Boston Terrier named “Bogie”.

Nancy often expressed how she missed him and how she hoped he would greet her when she passed through the veil. Nancy’s favorite place to be was home. She did not enjoy being away for very long.

She warmly welcomed all visitors and made them feel like her home was their home. Most of all, Nancy loved her family. She used up all the energy of her life in service to them.

A more unselfish woman never lived. We love you Mom. Give Drake a hug for all of us.

We will miss you.
