Ronald Jerry Van Alfen Ronald Jerry Van Alfen, 84, passed away on July 17, 2018. He was born on October 13, 1933 to Gerrit and Marquerite Noorda Van Alfen in Ogden, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Patricia Combe, on 10/29/1952 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Together they had four children. Ronald was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in multiple callings throughout the years, but one of his favorite callings was working with the Scouts.

In one group he had 21 Scouts and 18 earned their Eagles. He enjoyed leatherworking, working with wood, fishing and hunting, and was a rock hound, but most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children: Janeil (Ed) Thompson, Jerry (Laura) Van Alfen, Annette Heslop; daughter-in-law, Terrie Lundgren; 17 grandchildren; 22-1/2 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Neal (Pam) Van Alfen and Marcia (Jerry) Dixon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Ronald Jay Van Alfen, and son-in-law Andy Heslop. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. , South Ogden.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. , Ogden. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
