Mom was born in Waterloo, Iowa into the loving home of David Albert Plum & Ida A. Vaughn. Mom was their third child of six. Mom went to school in Waterloo, Iowa.

Mom married William Gilbert and they moved to Ogden, Utah. They had 3 children Cynthia, Sandra, & William D. They were later divorced. She was married to John Boss they were later divorced.

Mom shared the last 32 years of her life with her boyfriend Ronald Bitton. Together they enjoyed road trips around the west, competing in numerous slot tournaments, and dining out. Marilyn was also his caregiver during the last years of his life, as his health declined.

She worked for 30 years at the Defense Depot of Ogden as a computer programmer, finally retiring in 1996. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia (Vern) Andrews and Sandra (Rick) Ropelato, three stepdaughters Shirley Boss Morrison, Judy Boss (Gerald) Kinder, Peggy Boss (David) Barney. Mom is survived by her daughters Cindy (Vern) Andrews and Sandra (Rick) Ropelato, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

9 great great grandchildren Mom was preceded in death by her parents, David Albert Plum and Ida A. Vaughn Plum, her brothers Donald Plum, Michael Plum, Albert Plum, David Plum, & sister Ida Mae Plum Hestad, son William (Bill) D. Gilbert, boyfriend Ron Bitton, & Grandson Khristopher Cortisse, The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of Peachtree Assisted Living and Symbii Hospice for the compassionate care they gave mom for the last months of her life. To honor our Mom’s wishes, there will be no formal viewing, traditional funeral or public graveside service.
