Howard Keith Wheelwright March 26, 1934 – 6/28/2018 Howard Keith Wheelwright, 84, passed on June 28, 2018 at home with his loving family at his side. Keith, as he was always known to his family and friends, was born March 26, 1934 in Ogden, UT to Howard and Norma Wheelwright. As a child Keith and his brother Ron fished, hunted, hiked and explored all around the Ogden Canyon and River and particularly the Alpine Country of Monte Cristo.

As a young man Keith was active in athletics and the outdoors. He was an exceptional athlete and from the skills he learned from his father he excelled at fly fishing. Keith lived almost his entire life in the neighborhood of Lorin Farr Park and Ogden Stadium.

Through his work Keith met the woman of his dreams Dorothy Clark. They were married on June 6, 1959 in Las Vegas, NV. Throughout their 59 years of marriage they created a partnership that focused on raising a family that was loving, loyal and devoted to each other.

At a young age he went to work for Western Electric and quickly rose to management positions and was revered as a servant leader to those that worked alongside Keith. Keith retired from Western Electric in 1984 and continued to contract work in the field of high capacity digital communications. He later worked in the Pro Shop at the Ben Lomond Golf Course.

Throughout his life Keith remained an avid fly fisher, golfer and outdoorsman. He attended sporting events of all kinds including hockey, auto racing, basketball, football and more. He passed on many of the golfing and fishing skills he possessed to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

More importantly Keith passed on his special skills of being a loving husband, parent, grandparent and friend along to all he touched. Keith is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy; his three Daughters Kathy DeMint (Tom) of Fort Collins, CO; Lauri Vigil (Troy) of Ogden; and Susan Childress (Rick) of Hooper, UT. He is survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

He is survived by his Brother Ron Wheelwright (Sharon) of North Ogden; his nephew Shawn Wheelwright of Ogden; his niece Julie Thompson (Troy) of Pleasant View; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Keith was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Martha Clark and parents Howard and Norma Wheelwright. A graveside service will be held Thursday July 5th at 11:00 am at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd.

, Ogden. Visitation will precede the service at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. , Ogden from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Utah Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association or the Ogden Hearts for Hospice.
