David James Rodda, 72, passed away peacefully at his home on June 4, 2018. He, was born on March 9, 1946 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to Errol Matthew Rodda and Katherine Marie Bruun. He was raised in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

David enlisted in the Army in 1966 at the age of 20, and was honorably discharged in 1972. David served in Turkey during the Vietnam War and has lived in many places from Ankara, Turkey to Oklahoma, Chicago and Utah. He married Shirlee Irene Benson in August of 1975 in Lake Tahoe.

They had two daughters and one son. They later divorced and then remarried in August of 2001. David lived and enjoyed many places all over the world, and loved the people he met while traveling.

He loved animals all his life and raised award winning horses and cows. He enjoyed road trips, traveling, and seeing new places. He enjoyed working on cars and helping others with all kinds of projects David graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1964, he also graduated as an Army Avionic Mechanic.

He was a flight instructor at the Ogden Airport and flew for Governor Matheson for the State of Utah. He also worked at Morton Thiokol and was an FAA inspector for 20 years. Teaching was something that came naturally to him and it showed in everything he did.

He deeply loved all of his family both immediate and extended. His children and grandchildren meant everything to him. He is survived by his wife, Shirlee, his daughters; Amy (Seth) Call, Michelle (Brendon Simpson) Rodda, and one son; Mathew (Jessica) Rodda.

Five grandchildren, Jake Hall, Elle Call, Easton Call, William Rodda, Riley Rodda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he was close with and loved very much. He is preceded in death by his parents, and all of his brothers and sister and their spouses; Errol (Erica) Rodda, Robert (Joan) Rodda, Lenore (Bob) Black, and Don Rodda and one son in law, Seth Call.
