Virginia Carlsen, 58, passed away on July 8, 2018, at her home with her loving family surrounding her. Virginia was born November 26, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to Ubaldo Loredo Ontiveros and Francisca Tapia Turrubiartes Ontiveros. She married Franklin Carlsen and together they had two beautiful children Kevin Steven Carlsen and Erika Carlsen.

She married Dean Leroy Carlsen on December 21, 1991, and they were happily married for 20 years. Virginia was a dedicated public servant and completed 30 years of service at the Second District Court of Ogden, Utah. Virginia was a member of the Catholic Church.

She loved spending time with her family, her two children and her granddaughter who were the light of her life. She is survived by her companion of five years Pablo, her mother Francisca Ontiveros, son Kevin Carlsen (Elizabeth) and granddaughter Allainah Carlsen of Annapolis, MD and her daughter Erika Carlsen (Estefania) of Oakland, CA. She is also survived by her four brothers Javier T. Ontiveros, Octaviano Ontiveros, Santos Ontiveros (Kristen), and Rene Ontiveros and her two sisters Maria Piñeda (Epifanio) and Gabriela Renek (William).

She was preceded in death by her father, Ubaldo Loredo Ontiveros, her husband Dean Carlsen, her sisters Esperanza Ontiveros and Graciela Ontiveros and her brothers Arturo Ontiveros and Antonio Ontiveros. A special thanks to Intermountain Hospice for the outstanding, loving care they provided. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Mountain View Cemetery in Eden, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, Virginia requested that you gift a planter or flowers to someone you love in her memory.
