Robert John Hein, Bob, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at his home. Bob was born April 6, 1923, in Ogden, Utah, to Albert and Turah Hein. He graduated from Ogden High School.

He married Ileene Flinders on August 25, 1942, and they had four children: Larry (Roseanne), Ken (deceased), Mike (Julie) and Diane (Champ) Roach. He has three grandchildren: Kyle, Janna, Brett; and eight great-grandchildren: Aiden, Ashlyn, Zachary, James, Caleb, Maxwell, Eleanor and Theodore. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Bob served honorably in the Army during World War II as a member of the 29th Infantry Division. He worked at Felt Auto Parts in Ogden, starting as a delivery boy and finishing as manager of the store, until he retired in 1986. He enjoyed bowling and fishing with friends when he was younger, and after retirement he enjoyed working out at the Roy City Recreation Center for many years.

He is loved by many and especially by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents and his sister, Doris; and his son, Ken. He is survived by his other children and grandchildren; as well as his sister, Connie.

Friends may call at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West, on Thursday, July 12, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 East 5650 South, South Ogden. The family would like to thank the staff at Encompass Hospice for their care of Bob the last few months of his life, especially Tammy and Dr. Seth Lewis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to a charity of your choice, suggested charities include the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
