Gregory A Phay was born March 25, 1948 in Long Beach California to Mary and Pete Moser. He was later adopted by his step-father Ted Phay. Greg lived most of his live in Southern California where he was a cement contractor and trucker.

He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the New York Eastern States Mission. Greg considered one the most important parts of his life was the 10 years he was a Temple worker serving in the Los Angeles and Mt Timpanogos Temples. In 1993 Greg moved to Provo, Utah to help with his 3 younger children who had moved there with their mother in 1992.

After Greg married Rhonda Richards in 1994, they made Utah their home. One of Greg’s favorite quotes is by President Gordon B. Hinckley “Stand and be counted”. Greg tried throughout his life to be honest and a man of truth, even if his truths were not excepted by the changing world around him.

Greg is survived by his wife, Rhonda Richards, sons: Ben, Jacob and Russell Phay, daughters: Sara (Willoughby) Rachal (Burnier) and 9 grandchildren, brothers Mark (Valerie) and Bruce (Rita), sister-in-law Ruth Wiser and many nieces and nephews. Greg died, from complications of 2 strokes in 2018, on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Point Meadows Skilled Nursing Center in Lehi where he had spent just 3 days. Greg was anxious to return home to be greeted by loved family members that had gone before him.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www. olpinmortuary.com.
