Harry Gaunt Kleefisch July 02, 1945 – January 29, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Harry Gaunt Kleefisch, 73, of South Whitley died at 3:05 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City where he was admitted on Saturday. He was born July 2, 1945 in Marion, Indiana a son of the late John P. and Jacqueline (Gaunt) Kleefisch. His formative years were spent in Hartford City where he graduated from Hartford City High School in 1963.

On January 27, 1964, he entered the U.S. Army where he trained as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He was honorably discharged from active duty December 8, 1967. He returned to Marion, Indiana before moving to Fort Wayne.

On August 17, 2002 he was united to in marriage to Jennifer C. Pio. They made their home in Fort Wayne. In 2017, they moved to South Whitley.

Harry spent most of his work career in the insurance industry working for Lincoln Life and Physicians Health Plan (PHP), Fort Wayne. He completed his work career with Centennial Wireless. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed shooting sports.

He delighted in attending area flea markets searching for hidden treasures. In his senior years, he became a member of Rock Steady Boxing. Family was his priority and he loved his time with his children and grandchildren.

He held a special place in his heart for his dog, Pearl. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, his children, Tonya (Eric) Horvath, South Whitley, Brian (Mary) Kleefisch, Hartford City, Jared Kleefisch, Waterloo, and Kate Kleefisch, Florida; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Joni (Dereal) Lytle and Juli (Rodney) Harmon both of Marion. The funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley.

Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service. Preferred memorials are to the National Rifle Association or the Allen County SPCA.
