Obituary for Harry R. Long Harry R. Long, 93, of Anderson, passed away on April 24, 2018 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson. He was born on April 26, 1924 in Vigo County, Indiana and resided most of his life in Madison County. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

during WWII in the South Pacific. He was self-employed as a mechanical contractor for both Texaco and Amoco, and retired after 46 years. Harry also continued farming throughout his entire life.

He was a past member of Bethany Christian Church, and current member of Fall Creek Christian Church. Harry is survived by his loving spouse of 30 years, Delores (Earnest) Long; children, Rhea (John) Colson, Durenda Hopper, Doug (Terry) Long, and Todd Shaun Campbell; grandchildren, Jonathan (Alice) Colson, Rhajon (Todd) Smith, Kristin Colson, Matthew (Erin) Long, Allison (Kyle) Willis, Hugh (Jessica) Hopper, Andrew (Ashley) Hopper; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and Oscar Long; late wife, Dorothy Long; son-in-law, David Hopper; two brothers; and four sisters.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 27, 2018, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and one hour prior to services at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN. Services will be Saturday, April 28, 2018, 10:00 am at the funeral home with Kent Stookey officiating. Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
