Ms. Hazel Lee Shedrick was born on June 13, 1930 in Johnsonville, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Rufus Shedrick and Tenthia Stuckey. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 20, 2019 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Hazel attended the public schools of Florence County. She later relocated with New York, where she was employed with New York Healthcare System. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Shedrick; brothers, Richard Fulton Shedrick and Everette Michael Shedrick; and her sister, Wilhelmenia Shedrick. Those left to cherish her memories include: her children: Gerody (Elois) Boatwright, Wendy Garrett and Robin Shedrick; her grandchildren: Rodney Boatwright, Barry R. Garrett, Jr., Kelly E. Garrett, Randy Boatwright and Jessica R. Garrett; one great-grandson, Sincere Boatwright; two nieces, Hazel T. Wright and Nadine A. McNeil; grandnieces and grandnephew, Blair E.
