Obituary for Heather Nichole Zuercher Burns Heather N. (Zuercher) Burns, 39 Heather N. (Zuercher) Burns, 39 of Akron, formerly of Ashland passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in her home after a five year courageous battle with Cancer. She was born on April 5, 1979 in Mount Vernon to Tom and Susan (nee Mayfield) Zuercher. Heather graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1997.

She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree of Education from Malone College in 2001. She began her career teaching 3rd grade at Louisville Elementary for several years. On July 27, 2002, Heather married the love of her life, Roger Paul Burns.

Heather was a lady of faith and the supportive wife of a minister. She lived life to the fullest and loved being a wife and a mother to her children; who will miss her deeply. Heather was a faithful member of the Dickey Church of the Brethren and attended the Community Vineyard Church in Cuyahoga Falls.

She previously served as a member of the Pastoral Search Committee at the Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren in North Canton. Throughout her life, Heather enjoyed reading and listening to music.

Heather is survived by her daughter, Anna Burns; two sons, Braden and Kaleb Burns, all of Akron; her parents, Tom and Susan Zuercher of Ashland; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Karen Burns of Mount Eaton; one sister, Sharla (Paul) Lechner of Ashland; one brother, Jared (Katie) Zuercher of Akron; a sister-in-law, Serina (David) Yoder of Mount Eaton; a brother-in-law, Matthew (Laura) Burns of Mansfield; six nieces; two nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins that she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Roger Paul Burns on November 2, 2010; her maternal grandparents, Russell and Camella Mayfield; and her paternal grandparents, Herb and Florine Zuercher. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dickey Church of the Brethren, 1509 Township Road 655, Ashland, OH 44805 with her father, Pastor Tom Zuercher officiating.

She will be laid to rest next her husband, Roger in the Dickey Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, April 20, 2018 in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Burns Family Trust, P.O. Box 269, Ashland Ohio 44805 or Dickey Church of the Brethren, 1509 Township Road 655, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
