Helen Walker Ott, (90), of Arbutus Park Manor, 207 Ottawa Street, Richland, formerly of Westmont, died on October 18, 2018. She was born July 26, 1928, in Somerset County, only daughter of the late Clarence L. and Mary (Darr) Walker. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Guy, Edward, John Henry, and James Luther.

Survived by husband, Richard Morrell Ott, sons, David Walker (Johnstown) and Paul Frederick and his wife, fomer Lynn Ruth Verbonitz (Sinking Spring, PA); and granddaughters Alissa Ott (Reading, PA) and Kathleen (Brandon) Myers (Sinking Spring, PA). Also survived by sister-in-law, Julie Noble Walker, former wife of James L. Walker (Seattle, WA) and numerous nieces and nephews. 1946 graduate of Somerset High School and a 1950 graduate of Hood College, Frederick, MD.

Former public school teacher in MD and CA, community volunteer in Johnstown and founder of the Cambria County Chapter, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in 1984. Life member of First Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 10 until the time of the service at 11 at First Lutheran Church, 415 Main Street, Johnstown, Rev.

Walter Starzel officiating. Memorial contributions in Helen’s name may be made to the Preservation Fund of the same First Lutheran Church.
