Helen M. Bell, age 82, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 9:38am in the Emergency Room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. Helen was born on September 20, 1935 in Greene County, Pennsylvania to Charles and Carrie (Baysinger) Rush, both of whom are deceased. She was once married to Donald E. Bell, and he is deceased.

She is survived by her four children: Deborah (John) Moscatello of Franklin, Wisconsin, Karen (Jeff) Bassler of Upper Sandusky, David (Barbara) Bell of Marysville, Ohio, and Jason (Sarah Cornish) Bell of Upper Sandusky, along with two granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah Moscatello. Helen is also survived by a brother, Charles Rush, and two sisters, Jean Roberts, and June Boso, all of Moundsville, West Virginia. Helen was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald and Carl Crouse.

She was a homemaker and also had worked as a state certified nurse’s aide at the Fairhaven Community and the former Wyandot Manor Nursing Home for many years. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed attending chapel services, participating in the bell choir and bible studies at the Fairhaven Community. She was also very involved at Fairhaven, having served on various committees during her residency.

For hobbies Helen enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, sewing, gardening and canning, reading. She had a love for animals, especially her cats, and also collected cat figurines. She will be remembered for her love of her family, and of her two granddaughters.

Funeral services for Helen M. Bell will be held at 11:00am Thursday, May 10, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Becky King and Rev. Mary Curtis officiating.

Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Research Foundation, Bell Choir or the Activities Fund, both at the Fairhaven Community, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
