Gary D. Cole, age 83, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 12:15pm at his home in Upper Sandusky. Gary was born on November 6, 1934 in Carey, Ohio, to Cecil and Golda (Keckler) Cole, both of whom are deceased. He was married to Carolyn Ratliff on June 2, 1956 in Richmond, Indiana and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

He is survived by his sons: Tim (Laura) Cole of Nevada, Gary Dean (Vickie) Cole of Lima, Charles David Cole of Carey. 3 grandchildren: Nina Leigh Smith, Seth Joseph Cole and Jamy D. Conrad and 2 great grandchildren: Shelby Lynn Shuster, and Nadia Conrad. Gary is also survived by his brother, Bill (Geneile) Cole of San Diego, California, and a sister, Donna Crawford of Upper Sandusky, along with his half-brothers, Denny Kidwell of Tiffin Jody Kidwell of Tiffin, and a half-sister Ginger Ward of Tiffin He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers: Cecil and James Cole, half brothers, Wendell, Dusty, and Kevin Kidwell Gary worked for 44 years for the former Claycraft Brick Manufacturing in Upper Sandusky as a brick sorter.

For hobbies he enjoyed hunting arrowheads, and collecting antique, sport cars, pitching horseshoes, golfing, watching boxing, horseback riding, boating at Indian Lake, and following the Packers and OSU Buckeyes. Most precious to Gary was his home and the love of his family. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Gary D. Cole will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Monday, July 23, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and 1 hour before service time on Tuesday, both at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
