Peggy A. Raymond, age 79, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 9:55pm in the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky. Peggy was born on July 24, 1938 to Guy and M. Lucille (Pryor) Stansbery, both of whom are deceased. She married Melvin “Mel” R. Raymond on November 27, 1954 in Liberty, Indiana.

He passed away on October 6, 2016. She is survived by two children: Randy (Teresa) Raymond of Findlay, and Penny (Michael) Lewis of Upper Sandusky. Six grandchildren: Heather (Jeffery) Hartman, Amber (Bill) Reed, April (Josh) Harmon, Andrew (Lindsay) Raymond, Heath (Maria) Lewis, and Alex (Hayley) Raymond, along with 14 great grandchildren.

Peggy is also survived by 4 brothers, Roger Stansbery of Crosby, Texas, Tim Stansbery of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Paul (Barb) Stansbery of Marseilles, Ohio and Gary (Laura) Stansbery of Portage, Ohio, and 4 sisters, Rose Feltis of Cape Coral, Florida, Alice McCarthy of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Diane (Gary) Gregory of Pickens, South Carolina, and Paulette Mowery of Fostoria, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, a great granddaughter Payton Grace Raymond, 3 brothers: Phil, Norman, Sam Stansbery, and a sister Vickie Stansbery. Peggy worked for 35 years at A.O. Smith in Upper Sandusky.

She was a long time member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, where she was active with Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, helping with funeral dinners, and also served on Sunday mornings as a greeter. For hobbies, she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, country music, swimming with her grandchildren, following the Buckeyes and the Cavs. Peggy most of all loved her family and especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services for Peggy Raymond will be held at 10:00am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Friday, June 8, from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical UMC or the Activities Fund of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Memorials may be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave.
