Helen Sue Russell “Granny”, age 80, of Rogersville, went to be the Lord on Monday, May 27, 2019, from her home. She was born in Church Hill, TN, but had resided in Rogersville most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Ray Russell; parents, Kelly and Susie Christian; brothers, Buck and Bill Christian; sisters, Dallas Christian, Oma Henry, Irene Byington, Dolly Christian; and a special niece, Joanie Byington.

Helen is survived by her children, Dewey “Tommy” Russell, Tim Russell and wife Juantana, Janie Wilt, Karen Russell-Ferrell, and Belinda Russell-Almon; grandchildren, Mike and Jeremy Wilt, Whitney Russell-Hutchins, Josh and Justin Ferrell, Dustin Chapman, Kayla Geisler, Amber Trydell, and Tyler Bennett; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Geneva Sloan; and several nieces and nephews. “Granny” was a very special woman who loved everyone she met and everyone loved her. She will greatly missed.

She loved nothing more than when her great grandchildren would come to visit – she enjoyed every minute of it. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev.

Arry Hickman and Rev. David Sally officiating. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday in Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
